Our favorite 4 uses for Livestock panels

Livestock panels are a heavy gauge, galvanized, welded wire mesh product. They are also known as “hog”, “cattle” or “sheep” panels. They make a great alternative to a low cost, building material for greenhouses, shelters, Arbors and Veggie tents or trellis, in addition to their regular use of temporary fencing and/or a framed fencing panelOur Favorite 4 Uses:

Greenhouse
“With the addition of a framed based, some framing for a door, and some greenhouse plastic, livestock panels can easily be used for a hoop house or greenhouse type structure.”

Weather Shelter
“With some t-posts, medium gauge wire and the right sized tarps, one can setup a low cost shelter for animals, hay, tools, and more. One of the nicest aspects of this type of shelter is that is goes up very quickly and does not require any building permits to install. This flexible design can easily be made longer by adding additional panels and tarps. The final cost will of course depend on the length needed and the quality of the tarps.”

In the Garden – Arbor & Trellis:
We just love the use of livestock panels in the garden. With them being used as an Arbor or a veggie tent or trellis, at the end of each growing season you can taken them down, store them and then decide next season, how you want to re-due the same layout or improve the growing environment for you cucumbers, tomatoes, sweet peas, or any veggie that climbs.
